Referring to the latest post, actually it is not seppuku. Seppuku refers only to the ritual during which the belly being cut open. Usually, women were exempted from such as it needed great strength (both physical and spiritual) and it could be very messy. Noble women usually took their lives by jigai, which involved pushing the blade into the throat or cutting the jagular vein.
