Anne og Alet handler om de sanne hendelsene som foregikk i Arendal i 1760 årene. De to søstrene Anne og Alet drepte over en periode flere gamle damer med giften fluekrutt. De ble til slutt tatt for ugjerningene og de tilsto i retten. Dommen ble satt i Danmark av Christian den 7. og de ble begge dømt til døden ved lemlesting og halshugging.
