Personally, I prefer the axe with an innovative or unusual design of block (see Galgameth or Hercules film on this site), or otherwise a beheading device mechanism that is NOT just your standard guillotine.

 

Samauri Sword has always been my favorite. I was a little boy during WWII and there was lots of propagandathat came out about them. The one of the Japanese person beheading the Australian Coast Watcher in Life Magazine had a profound effect on me at that time.
