An interesting new find:

Jane Bryan (as Leni Krafft) actually does die on the gallows at the end of this movie (but I assume it happens off screen.)

 

According to a member here, they filmed scene leading up to the execution room. Though I couldn't find the copy of movie that had that part.

 

Most unfortunate. (And, would that have included the pinioning?)

Add it to the cold case file...
