2nd part of Dark Angel,based on the true story of Victorian poisoner Mary Ann Cotton who was hanged for her crimes.

 

Thanks, already keeping my beady eye on this.
Part 1 opened with a marvellous sequence of Calcraft preparing the gallows, before they went into flashback.
Can only wait and hope the ending is depicted in as much detail.

 

Remarkable: Anna Smith finally goes to the gallows.

 

On IMDB the actor playing Calcraft is credited for two episodes. The book that inspired this drama widely talk about her execution. Editor is the same of the movie about Pierrepoint. We have a lot of chances to get a great final scene.

 

Did Calcraft use a body-belt, such as one of these?

Well, they skipped the drop. This is not surprising.

But the pinioning in the death cell, with the body belt, is a new classic. And the march to the gallows was very nicely paced...

Wrist cuffed in the front
Waist belt and both elbow attached to the belt ..
However her arms seems to be fastened from behind
Anybody know what's accurate ?

Great find guys; a very properly done execution.

But...once again, those bastard movie producers give us plenty of tease and foreplay with no splooge at the end - typical!

 

In my modest opinion is a good scene and very well acted. For me and as for all do you, the ending is too fast and we know that it was a botched execution.
But if saw the entire story, it work. Showing her struggling with Clacraft pushing on her shoulders, should give to the audience the idea to rehabilitate her.
In my opinion this production make a great work. However I prefer se to watch also until three minutes later. Cutting almost 20/30 seconds later should be a good compromise.
