Seems more like a Spanish style beheading, though I was under the impression the Spanish didn't behead people. (The one politician obsessed with guillotines current day aside.)

Many times in Germany and France an executioner would opt to behead a female in a chair as it would be a bit more difficult to do if she was kneeling and he was having problems with keeping her in place.
