Thanks, this was my first exposure to executions reading civil war books as a child. Her drooping head and the muslin cloth restraints highlighting her feminine form left a lasting impression on my your kind. I also remember seeing the biskupia gorka Nazi girls being hanged at that age and wondered if you have any photos of them? I can find some low quality ones on Google images but remember seeing high quality alternate angles here and elsewhere.

The binding over her skirt is something that's always stood out in all of the images.
There was a TV documentary I once watched (I've not been able to find it again), where I think I remember the historian describing Mary Surratt as having been "tied up like an umbrella" (of course, she had a parasol brought for her, too)
