Mara Williams was scheduled to bebeheaded at 12:00 noon, January19, 2004. The day of her execution was spent readying herself mentally and emotionally. She awoke at 8:00 a.m. and had breakfast as her last meal. She took about an hour to eat. Afterward, she took a warm shower for approximately 45 minutes. Once she was out of the shower, they had her go to the bathroom to clear her bowels and bladder as well as possible. Afterward she prepared further for her beheading by dressing herself and putting on makeup. Before she could be dressed though, she had to be fitted with a catheter and an analplug. These were relatively non-invasive, which helped Mara feel better.
Mara chose to wear a tan Cupid body-briefer and a white kimono robe over it. Gently, Mara put the body briefer on. She pulled it up to her torso, up her chest and back, and then pulled the straps evenly over her shoulders. She made some small adjustments to the briefer so it looked tight and symmetrical on her body. The briefer was flesh-colored and fit smoothly over her body, showing off its curves and shape. Her breasts were full, and the briefer formed a comfortable looking V over her chest, with the point right over her heart. Her legs were beautiful and creamy white, having just been shaved. Mara then put on the white kimono. She tried to keep herself calm as she thought about the fact that this was the last thing she would ever wear. She knew a v-neck body briefer with a kimono robe thrown over it looked very sexy. Looking at herself in the mirror, she ran her finger down the side of the edge of her kimono, then along the v-line of the body briefer over her breasts, then up the other side of the kimono. She breathed deeply a few times, letting the sides of her body expand into the soft embrace of the briefer. Once she had put on her makeup, Mara was led into the waiting room outside the execution room. The matron sat tending to her then escorted her into the room.
The room was very warm and bright andc omfortable. Mara could see the guillotine over the bed she would lie down on. The blade was hanging high above the place her neck would go. They told Mara to get up on the bed and kneel. Calmly and cooperatively, Mara did this and folded her hands in her lap. She closed her eyes briefly and breathed deeply. She opened them and the chaplain said a prayer. The head matron then calmly placed a hood over Mara's head, making sure to tuck her hair up into the hood, while another matron attached a wired heart monitor to her chest. Mara took one last look at the world before the hood would cover her vision.
As the head matron very gently unfolded the hood over her eyes and face, she asked Mara if she wanted to whisper anything else. Gently Mara whispered "no" and the matron continued pulling the hood over her nose and mouth until it covered her head completely. The matron then told Mara to gently liedown forward. Mara gently lowered herself into the prone position and then placed her arms gently at her sides. She could feel the softness of the bed on her chest. The sheet she was laying on was clean and brand new and had a calming fragrance. She placed her face on a circular face pillow so she was able to breathe. A matron on either side took Mara's hands and held them while Mara was strapped down. Only a few straps were necessary. The head matron asked Mara to scoot her body forward an inch before they could begin strapping her down. Mara did so, deepening the V of her body briefer which she could feel pressed against her body, and this made her happy. She could feel the soft bed against the front of her body. She liked the feeling of a V on her chest.
Straps were fastened over Mara's back, her wrists, her thighs, and her ankles. The matrons were gentle, and they used gentle pressure to help Mara. The strap around her back was loose enough for her to still breathe, and Mara could feel it gently laying over her back. She breathed deeply the entire time. She had placed her face in a circular pillow that allowed her to breathe and see the floor, and would keep her head from moving. "Ok Mara, just relax, we're done strapping you in." The guillotine blade hung over her, ready to come down in an instant. The matrons then took their places, leaving just Mara and the head matron in the immediate area. "Mara, when you feel my hand on your back count to ten ok?" Mara could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she tried to calm herself. The head matron then placed her hand on Mara's back for about 10 seconds. She closed her eyes and started counting in her head calmly. Mara's legs and feet were tense, and the matron felt Mara's back tense in the last few seconds.
The matron then pressed a red button and the blade zoomed down quickly and silently, severing Mara's head.
The head matron felt Mara's body twitch and tense every muscle, before relaxing. The matron watched Mara's feet and legs go limp. The matrons waiting in the observation room heard the heart monitor beep 3 times and then go flat. Blood gushed out of Mara's neck into a basin with a drain on the floor. Her head stayed put in the holder. The matron then pushed another button and the guillotine blade traveled back up the apparatus. The matron waited for the blood to finish coming out for a few minutes, and then motioned the other matrons over to come help her clean up a little bit. There were no jerks or movements from Mara's body.
The matrons removed all the straps from Mara's body except the strap over her back. After a few minutes of quick cleaning, the matrons left the room and the head matron brought Mara's boyfriend into the room. She left him alone with Mara's body for a few minutes. Quietly, he came into the room. He could see the body wrapped in a white kimono, but couldn't see her hair or her head really. As he came in he rubbed his hand along the sole of her right foot, gently stroking it the way he had when he wanted to relax her. He sat at the side of the bed and began rubbing Mara's back. He whispered a few words of love to her and then pulled up the bottom of her kimono. She'd always liked it when he rubbed her butt. He rubbed his hands along her legs up to her butt, still covered by the body briefer and the anal-plug diaper. He rubbed the elastic line between her legs. Her legs were soft and, like her body, were completely relaxed. Her heart had stopped just like her breathing. He wasn't used to seeing her this way. She seemed almost alive, but he knew she wasn't. Her arms and hands rested calmly and limply by her sides. She was calm now, she was resting.
The matron came in again and ushered Mara's boyfriend out of the room. The sides of the sheet on the bed placed there before Mara had come in and lay down were then pulled up over Mara's body, essentially wrapping her in the sheet. Simultaneously, the matrons took her head and removed the hood. She had closed her eyes, and now had a calm appearance on her face. Her mouth was slightly open, but her eyes were shut gently. The still and relaxed body was then wheeled out of the room. The front of the sheet was pulled down over the stump of Mara's neck. It was taken, along with her head, down to the garage where it was gently lifted into a temporary casket. Her head was wrapped in a small sheet as well and placed in the casket with her body. The casket was then lifted into a hearse, which transported it to a mortuary in preparation for burial.

Good story yes, It tells us of a civilized society. A pity Mara didn't play her cards wisely and had to land right below the blade
Brilliant story! Love the body briefer and Mara's emotions right before getting guillotined.
