A cart carrying Chunhyang arrived at the execution site in the center of Namwon's market. In the center of the execution place was a straw mat, and the executioners stood around it. One of them had a big sword to sever her neck. In front of the right stood a pole that would hang her head up after she got execution by beheading.
The executioners took Chunhyang to the center of the execution site and forced her to kneel on a straw mat. Chunhyang looked forward, and Mr. Byon was so far away that he sat with his desk in front of him. He said to Chunhyang.
"the sinner, Chun-hyang, Listen to me. You are a vulgar gisaeng(Korean geisha), but you dare to disobey my orders on the pretext of keeping your chastity. Chunhyang's decapitated head fell to the ground bleeding and rolled to a halt. Chunhyang's headless naked body fell sideways and spilled blood. Her headless naked body trembled as if it were squeezing blood.
The executioner who severed Chunhyang's neck walked toward her head, which was lying on the ground. He grabbed her hair and raised Chunhyang's decaptiated head high, showing it to the people. The executors accepted her head, washed it clean, embalmed it, and hung it up to the pole, and laid her headless naked body down under the pole, without untying the rope tying her body. The nipples of her headless corpse was facing the sky. A flag was set next to the pole where her head was hung up. "The head of Chunhyang, who got execution by beheading in disobeying the orders of the governor of Namwon"
Three days later, Byon ordered took Chunhyang's headless corpse to dump in a field outside Namwon, and make it rot or eaten by wild animals. But her family secretly took it and buried it in the grave.
Chunhyang left a will at the night before she got execution by beheading. "When you make my grave, do not put the corpse in a coffin, put any shroud on the corpse. Do not untie the ropes that will bind my body, and bury my headless naked body as it is." She also left a will to erect such a tombstone in front of her tomb. I think she should have been wearing socks and a skirt .................but thats just me......nude is a lil over rated I think stockings you are naked but not naked..........
