Having already investigated Iran Maddy returned to that part of the world looking for further juicy tales of female executions. These were the ones she liked most.
Iraq: Laila Qasim: Laila was only 20 years of age when she was put to death for her political activities on behalf of the Kurds against Saddam Hussein’s regime. Laila reportedly slowly strangled to death during her short drop hanging in Baghdad on the 28th of March 1974.
Iraq: Nasharan Safari: Nasharan was 26 years of age when she paid with her life for committing murder. She was hanged in Kormanshah on the 21st of October 2013.
Egypt: Samiha Abdul Hamid: 30 year old Samiha murdered her husband & was executed on the 11th of January 1987. Accompanying the account of her case was a real picture of the doomed young woman standing terrified on the gallows in the main prison in Cairo as she was prepared for the drop that Maddy found highly stimulating.
Egypt: Saleh Hashr: Saleh was 26 when she was hanged in Cairo for murder on the 10th of September 2000.
Egypt: Jihan Ali: 28 year old Jihan was executed for murder on the 10th of March 201in Giza Prison.
Egypt: Al-Atef & Asma H: This 40 year old woman & 19 year old girl were tried, convicted & sentenced to death for the murder of a child. In Cairo on the 11th of July 2017 the hangman’s nooses were tightened round their trembling necks & then they were launched into eternity.
Kuwait: Alice Barissa, 23, & Farida Sheeh, 25: Alice & Farida were both Indian maids who were hanged side by side on a British style gallows in Kuwait City prison on the 11th of September 1988 for murder.
Kuwait: Qadeer Kaleejd: The 24 year old Qadeer was another Indian domestic servant who was executed in Kuwait on the 17th of June 2001for murder.
Kuwait: Nasra Al Enezi, Jakatia Pawa & Omkel Mekon: 30 year old Nasra, 42 year old Jakatia & 28 year old Omkel dropped through the gallows trap together in Kuwait City jail on the 25th of January 2017.
Nasra had killed 57 women & children by setting fire to the tent they had gathered in to celebrate a wedding & the picture of her showed her to have been very attractive. The Filipino Jakatia & the Eithiopian Omkel were maids who had each murdered the daughters of their respective employers.
Jordan: Amira Salem: Amira was a 31 year old Syrian. On the 25th of June 1997 she was hanged in Swaqa prison, along with her lover, for killing her husband.
Jordan: Rasha, 19, & Abeer, 24, were Egyptian sisters who went to the scaffold in Swaqa on the 3rd of December 1998 having been convicted of the murder of a child.
Jordan: Ibitsam Ahaad: The 34 year old murderess Ibitsam was executed at Swaqa on the 12th of May 2002.
Jordan: Ibitsam Hussein: Having been found guilty of murder & sentenced to death the 24 year old Ibitsam dropped through the gallows trap in Swaqa on the 1st of March 2004
