XII More Victims of The Nazis
Maddy decided to return to her favoured method of execution, hanging, as she continued to research those young women who had been put to death by the Nazis.
Lili Bohm: The 20 year old Lili was a Yugoslav partisan. She was executed by pole hanging on the 25th of November 1941.
Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya: Zoya was also a partisan & she was only 20 when she was executed by public hanging on the 28th of November 1941 in the Ukrainian town of Petrschevco.
Vera Voloshina: On the 29th of November 1941 the pretty blonde & buxom 23 year old Russian partisan was publicly hanged in Golovkova.
Lepa Radic: Lepa was a partisan who was captured in Yugoslavia. She was only 17 when she was hanged from a tree on the 11th of February 1943 in Bosanska Gradiska.
Maria Kislyak: Maria was an 18 year old Ukrainian Partisan who, wearing a white summer dress, was strung up on a tree on the 18th of June 1943 along with two male comrades.
Maddy was blown away by the images that accompanied the stories of the executions of these five young female partisans.
Lili was shown hanging dead on the pole on which she had slowly strangled to death
The picture of Zoya showed her dangling from an improvised gallows, her head pushed to the side by the noose around her now stretched neck.
There were two images of Vera in happier times & the final picture had been taken after she had been executed.
Lepa had been photographed while she was being made ready to hang & then when she dangled dead on the rope.
The picture of Maria showed her swinging from a tree in her white dress between the bodies of her two dead male comrades.
Maddy could feel herself getting moist again however she decided not to scratch her itch just yet.
She then moved onto a group of young women who had been executed in a concentration camp.
Each camp had a public gallows & these were used to execute prisoners who had broken camp rules or who had tried to escape. The Nazis didn’t regard the gas chambers as a method execution for offences, to them they were simply a means of exterminating those they considered had no right to live.
Roza Robota, Ala Gertner, Estura Wajcblum & Regina Safrisztan: These four brave woman, none over the age of 30 were instrumental in the blowing up of one of the crematoria at Auschwitz-Birkenau on the 7th of October 1944.
They were all arrested, interrogated & condemned & on the 6th of January 1945 they were marched to the gallows in the middle of the camp in front of the other assembled prisoners. They were made to stand on folding chairs, noosed & then the chairs were removed leaving them to slowly strangle to death as an example to all.
