Hi all. I'm looking for some reliable , decent recommendations for good quality guillotine scenes in French Revolution documentaries or films featuring the revolution. In doing so, the usual, obvious contenders have to be eliminated - I'm searching for something rare. Any suggestions?

Is this rare enough?

Alas, not rare enough, Archie! It's been a while since I've watched Chouans, however.

Charlotte Deturckheim in Chouans.

It's a good scene, Jean. All a bit brief, however. There are many elusive guillotine scenes that have evaded my grasp, none more so than Sabine Haudepin in Manon Roland. I can't find a copy of that French mini series anywhere! Any other suggestions, Jean?

Angelique - an interesting collage of images. I have seen all of them at one time or other over the years. There was a very promising ARTE documentary released last year that depicted Marie Antoinette's trial, but elected to exclude the vital conclusion of that trial - the execution itself.
There has been real dearth of good quality Marie Antoinette material recently.

Aside from Marie Antoinette, I recall a BBC series of the Scarlet Pimpernel which had a wonderful scene in an episode called " Ennui ". That has vanished from all video sites.

And, of course, I persist in my seemingly unending quest to locate a copy of the elusive " Manon Roland " French Mini Series...

The last part was my favorite, tied strapped on the bascule, tilted over, slid up and her head locked in that thick lunette

I love any and all Marie Antoinette/ Guillotine scenes either historically accurate or not ❤️❤️❤️❤️
