Prior the last walk, the condemned prisoner, male as female, has to remove all clothing except his or her undergarments and socks. Then he or she is escorted tho the gurney. Once on it, the execution team place an "incontinence brief" on the condemned prisoner. When all is ready, they just put a sheet over him or her.

So yes, condemned prisoner are executed wearing only a diaper... but he or she can keep his or her underwear ! That's nice for him or her !

As a man, I wouldn't be ashamed wearing only my underwear when I walk to the death chamber, but wearing an adult diaper and knowing I will piss myself or more is humiliating...

I would like to know what a woman could think about walking to the execution room in only panties and bras, then wearing a adult diaper to catch her last pee ?

It seems like North Carolina is the only state that does this.

OK So you can wear your underwear, I didn't read the entire protocol. But maybe they take the underwear off once the prisoner is on the gurney. Makes sense. I don't know..........

I do not. Quite an interesting picture though. I guess I never thought that one gets strapped to a chair even for a firing squad. The strap across her chest is a little odd ..I thought the firing squad would be aiming for your heart...that strap might be in the way

Interesting how her legs are belted apart as well. Hopefully would not distract the firing sqaud. LOL

Konaron, I agree with you 110% that the gas chamber with cyanide gas is the best method. I have done a lot of research for my novels and still continue to do research on the subject. I will be giving a talk this fall on the methods of execution. I have discovered while researching the execution of Barbara Graham that the press coverage of her execution was distorted by the reporters present and once it hit the AP wire the details were exaggerated with each passing day. However, I found one article that was written by two reporters who attended her execution from a paper in Oakland, CA who stated that once she took a breath of the gas he head went back slightly and then fell forward and that only her shoulders twitched for a few seconds and then she was still.
