Hello everyone, so I have a question for you: what is the strangest/most historically inaccurate guillotine design you have ever come across? I know that this is not something everyone will be interested in, but I would be intrigued by any examples you could provide. Another question I have is: If you were to redesign the guillotine to fit/accommodate the fashions of different historical periods and cultures (such as the high wigs of the 1770s, the wide supported skirts/gowns of the 1590s/1850s/entire 18th century, etc), what changes would you make?
Please give me your thoughts, my own ideas are getting a bit stale.

Okay, I'll give the first examples, from those found on this site:
The hinged lunette from the 1989 Tale of two cities:https://www.themiscollection.com/image.php?set=vip&sid=202010061507&pid=4&setname=A%20Tale%20of%20Two%20Cities%20(1989)%20-%20guillotine
That thing people do where someones hands are also held in the lunette, like this:https://www.themiscollection.com/image.php?sid=202204200921&pid=9&setname=Are%20the%20Brave%20Men%20Dating

Does anyone have any thoughts regarding the question of how the guillotine could accommodate the fashions of other time periods?

Well there's some few strangest/most historically inaccurate guillotine designs in some other media.

For example, there was a guillotine with a two-headed lunette from Beetlejuice TV Series: https://themiscollection.com/set/Beetlejuice_-_Scummer_Vacation
And there's also another guillotine with a two-headed lunette from the comic, Caroline Cholera: https://themiscollection.com/set/Caroline_Cholera
And there's also another one, this time it was took place in Ancient China: https://themiscollection.com/set/Be_Careful_Sweetheart

Sometimes there are some few guillotines with the pillory-like lunette in some anime such as Crescent Love, Killing Bites, Die Now (Chinese Anime) and Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra.

One more thing, there was a strange guillotine design from the Indian TV Series in episode 1, Paurashpur. https://themiscollection.com/set/Paurashpur_-_guillotine

Thank you for responding, there's also an anime (Rise of the Shield Hero I think) that has one with a weird blade. Do you have any thoughts on the whole 'adapting the guillotine to different period and fashions' question.
