Tucked away in a late evening slot on Channel 4 UK is the little known 'Year Of The Rabbit', a new comedy crime series set in Victorian London.
The scheduling probably says it all about how good they reckon it is.
However Episode 5 had the chief copper’s lady love (Jill Halfpenny) getting nicked for murder and sentenced to hang.
Ironically it takes a comedy to give us the rare event of a FAILED last minute rescue. Now that's funny!

I remember Jill from her days in Byker Grove with Ant and Dec!
As for Year of the Rabbit,looks like someone saw Ripper Street and tried to spoof it.Casting Keeley Hawes in it was a nice touch though,since her husband Mathew Macfadyen played the lead role in Ripper Street.
