She's a Colombian independence heroine and she was beheaded for making a jacket for Simón Bolivar, the leader to our independence campaign. In the final moments, as depicted in the stills @AndersK2 has posted, the upper official places a bet on who among his men is able to chop her head with just a stroke. Just for making a jacket, isn't it brutal?
 
 
This one is interesting. I must admit ordinarily when I think of Spain ( or its colonies ) what comes to mind is the Garrote. But apparently there was beheadings up until around 1820.
 
 
This one was more like a mafia style retaliation than a judicial execution and was one of the exceptions in South America. the garrote was not used here in Colombia. Most executions of that period were carried out by firing squad and they often hanged the dead bodies by the neck in public places for the people to look at them
